Slim Boukhdir is FREE!

Archive - July 27, 2008, 17:50

He was not given any further explanation. His release is apparently conditional on his “good behaviour”; if convicted of a similar crime he has been told he would have to serve out the rest of his sentence. Slim Boukhdir was arrested on 26 November 2007 and charged with “insulting .

Youtube video: Islam, The religion of fear…

Archive - July 14, 2008, 20:22
Today’s most popular video on youtube is called “The religion of fear” and can be found http://youtube.com/watch?v=W3_qelW5qp4  The video simply presented Islam as the worst and most violent religion. What striked me the most was the number of viewers and votes on the video. The video was played 500 thousand times already and has over 8000 votes of 4-5 stars. Once again, I would like to thank our government for banning youtube in Tunisia so we won’t have to watch s.

In my name, and in the name of Jewish people throughout the world, an indigenous population was almost completely expelled. Village names have been removed from the map, houses blown up, and new forests planted. In Arabic, this is called the Nakba, or catastrophe. In Israel, this is called "independence." -- This land was theirs by Hannah Mermelstein; The Jewish Advocate, 24 Apr 2008. [Via: Lawrence of Cyberia].

The fall of Labour in Britain

Archive - May 3, 2008, 05:05
Unless Gordon Brown is a masochist he should get the hint and step down as Prime Minister after the appalling results of Labour at the local elections. The Lib Dems have made important gains, but a general election would give David Cameron every chance to enter 10 Downing Street. With Boris Johnson mayoring London in addition, Britain is now effectively run by the tories. If I were a citizen of this country I would vote in anyone who pledges to remove any CCTV camera who is not clearly visibl.

Where are Zim's election results?

Archive - April 1, 2008, 12:09
A general election was held in Zimbabwe this past weekend but the full results are not out yet. Only two thirds of the results have been released, showing slightly more parliamentary seats for the opposition. To me what is going on is very dodgy, and I would suspect one of two things is happening: - Either Mugabe’s ruling party is using this as a strategy to legitimise a continuation of the dictatorship with a narrow win that would look like a democratic result, rather than a landslide vict.

Two Palestinians have come together to put a new spin on rendering the wall into an art form, by starting an organization called send.a.message, whereby you can.
