A general election was held in Zimbabwe this past weekend but the full results are not out yet. Only two thirds of the results have been released, showing slightly more parliamentary seats for the opposition. To me what is going on is very dodgy, and I would suspect one of two things is happening: - Either Mugabe’s ruling party is using this as a strategy to legitimise a continuation of the dictatorship with a narrow win that would look like a democratic result, rather than a landslide victory which would cause outrage both at home and abroad - Or these are genuine results reflecting fa.
