Fixed WiMAX will find its best uses in the third world while mobile WiMAX will become the broadband of choice in the developed world, according to a new report from West Technology Research Solutions (WTRS). The study says the technology will have 31m subscribers globally by 2010 with Africa accounting for 12 per cent of this. Given its ease of use and less stringent power requirements, fixed WiMAX will show the greatest growth in Africa.
